Alternators and Starters

ok, so for those of you that don't know, I work at an alternator and starter shop. For other of you that know what exactly those are and what they do, well you are way ahead of me. Today my boss decides that I need to learn about then and other car related things so that I can give estimates over the phone and stuff. So he starts out "basic".. there are 3 different groups of both starters and 3 different groups of alternators. I'm thinking ok thats easy enough right.. well alternators either have the fan internal or external and the regulators internal and external.. the newer ones have both inside.. I'm thinking ok ok the fan is obvious, if i can see it its external. Then after a lot more explanation.. that i couldn't even begin to repeat cause he might as well have been speaking another language, he moves onto starters. Then there are a whole lot of abreviations, and each has a whole sentence practically to explain it... and by this point I'm just staring at the computer screen like a deer caught in the headlights. He asks me questions and I'm just silent.. I am so not interested in cars, I turn the key and it goes.. and when it doesn't I trade cars with Jaxon for the day.. I mean thats why I got married! Before Jaxon was my Daddy. So, now i am deciding if I want to try and learn this new language, which lets face it if I still have no idea after working there for 5 months I'm never going to, or just wait out the next 4 months until I get to quit. They knew I knew nothing about cars when they hired me, why now is it an issue? My boss is this weirdo looking guy with a long beard and mustage that half gray.. and this curly mullet thing. He makes no sense and yet thinks he is so good with people. People come in all the time and he will talk to them about there cars for like 20 minutes and then leave.. and they lean over to me and ask what the heck was he talking about? Not cause they have my sickness of lack of knowledge in the car department.. but because he rambles on and on and has no social skills. It makes my job so hard I have to quess what he is asking me to do, and then if i try and verify what he really wants me to do, he says well yeah this is whats going on we will go from here, and his favorite line is "so on and so forth" and he doesnt know how to use it! Anyways my job is kinda funny sometimes.

My Reason For Being In Logan

What a jeepin hottie. So, ok theres no snow in Logan.. so what do we spend our day doing? Drivin up Millville canyon in the snow. Who just goes looking for snow? This probably wasnt the smartest thing for me to do since I was feeling like death all week. Anyways, we went jeepin with cousin Jaron on Saturday. They are certainly introducing me to a whole new way of life.. yes i said life, jeeping a lifestyle you see. Jaxon is so happy when we are jeeping that its totally contagious.. and can be pretty thrilling, just ask my mom. She was pretty funny when we took my Mom Dad and Taylor on a jeep trip this summer.. she was screaming when we would go up even a small hill, it was so funny and she had a blast and was giggling the whole time. My Dad being a Utah boy at heart seemed to enjoy the outdoors and was very calm and collected the whole time. Taylor.. well she was not impressed.. and was just afraid of every bug that flew by her.. there was one butterfly that we could only assume was flesh eating the way she ran away from it screaming. Taylor certainly isnt a nature girl. It's really awesome though how all of Jaxon's family is into jeeping. All of his cousins and uncles and everyone have jeeps and get together and go on big jeep trips. They do that the way we girl cousins go get manicures and go shopping. His family is all really really close and think this is why.

Jeepin Saturday

The stream was half frozen, and so beautiful!

We had the most beautiful view of the valley. As you can kinda see there isn't any snow on the ground in town.. but tons up the canyons. Usually there is tons on the ground by Thanksgiving, or even Halloween.. but here it is almost Christmas and nothing.. prayers certainly are being answered everyday!

Anyone Else Noticing A Trend In My Life?

Cousin Jaron playin in a river.
Cousin Jaron got hiimself into some trouble... he was stuck like this for about 10 minutes until Jax could guide him to a point where his front tires were both touching the ground. Jeeps like cars work best when all the tires are on the ground. look at that flex though.

You can't really see it in this picture but there is a really really thick sheet of ice all the way up the rest of the trail and Jaxon in the jeep was slidding like crazy and having a blast!

The Fall Of Jaxon

That thick sheet of ice got the better of Jax.. he slipped and landed on his back and just kept slidding done the hill... it was pretty humorous cause his legs were up in the air as you can see, while he was slidding. (I can laugh cause i ate it too.. but i fell on my face while I was taking a picture.. that picture didn't exactly turn out.)

Shoostin

Ok, so this was last winter (notice that I am out in the snow shooting).. but I wanted to be cool like Julia. This isn't my gun, i prefer my 22.. this is cousin Jaron's.. i was just taking for a test drive to see if I wanted one like it.

CrAzY LAdY...

Ok, first of all I want to say wow.. i had no idea having a blog was a full time job. To all my fans I want to say I am sick right now so I havent really done much of anything, and i apologize for letting my blog go un-updated for for a whole 4 days.

Ok, so up until last week i was working part time helping this lady that has brain damage from a car accident in her house helping her with her house work and taking her shopping and on visitation with her kids. My job was to help her with these goals that she has set for herlself, so that she can continually gain more and more independance. I was supposed to "help" her with her housework. Well she was out of town last monday and me being so nice i went to her apartment anyways and cleaned. I did her sink full of dishes ( no dishwasher) I did her laundry, folded it and put it away in her drawers, i changed and washed her sheets etc.. so basically i was working my butt off for this lady at 6:30 in the morning even though thats not my job. When she gets home she sends me an email listing stuff that she wants me to clean evertime i am at her place(3 times a week).. this list includes wiping down her fridge, picking up after her, cleaning her bathroom, and so on.. stuff that i dont do on a regular basis at my own home. She then had the nerve list things that i didn't do that morning, like pick up her towl in the bathroom that she put on the floor, clean up her crafts that she had left on the floor and clean up after her cat, that when I was hired i was specifically told the cat was her responsibility. In the mean time 2 months have gone on where she has been asleep when i get there or she naps while I'm cleaning, and she has refused to work on her goals. So i emailed her back as nicely as i could finally standuing up for myself telling her that I am not a cleaning lady, and that if thats all she wanted than she could get one for cheaper than me and that does a heck of a lot better cleaning, and that she was going to have to start cleaning with me, that i had no problem cleaning but that I was hired to help her, I told her that we needed to work on her goals cause that is a major part of my job. I was so nice it killed me. She emailed me basically telling me she would not work on anything with me and that she needed me that night but that after than there was no reason to continue. I picked this chick up and she then yelled and screamed at me for what i had emailed her, saying that she shouldn't have to clean, said that I wasn't a good housekeeper, and basically going off and turned from sweetheart brain damage lady to yelling screaming crazy person. She was cursing and waving her arms around while i was driving and seriously scared me. Basically, she was taking advantage of this non-profit organization that I was working for and telling me that I was hired to do everything that she told me to do. So basically, she went crazy and that was the end of it for me. She also forwarded the email i sent her to my boss and she told me that everything I had said was completely appropriate and that she over reacted.. umm yeah she wasnt even there when she flipped! I only took the job in the first place cause I missed helping people, I missed taking care of people like I did in the nursing home.. it certainly wasnt for the $8.25 an hour... come on that was hardly worth dragging my butt out of bed at 6 am.

High Dive

Thanksgiving

Ok folks, so most people spent their Thanksgivings with family and lots of food.. and basically inside.. well this is how the McCloys spent theirs this year. Yes that is our jeep, and yes we are in it, and yes we made it up in one piece. This particular obstacle is a pretty difficult one, especially if you don't have lockers. There was a group of people there just watching and they were putting money down betting that we wouldn't make it up. We sure showed thos hicks up. Moab was a pretty fun and interesting place to spend a Thanksgiving. We did have a home cooked turkey dinner though.. not home cooked by me thank goodness.. it was awesome! Aunt Colleen is an amazing cook, and didn't complain one bit about having dinner ready for all the hungry jeepers when they finished a trail.

Fancy Drink

Ok so I'm new to the whole blog thing, so I'm just putting in pictures until i get the hang of it. Anyways, here we are on one of our recent get the heck out of Logan trips to Vegas. Notice my fancy drink (I was sure to get that in the picture cause I felt pretty cool drinking it).
